Insurance Man 1946
On the afternoon of July 25, 1946, two young married African American couples were lynched at the same time in Monroe, Georgia. They were beaten and their bodies were riddled with bullets by a mob of white men who were also from Monroe. One of the women was seven months pregnant.
A native of Milledgeville, Georgia, poet Sean Hill is a Cave Canem Fellow. His poems have been published in numerous literary journals and anthologies. “Insurance Man 1946″ originally appeared in Painted Bride Quarterly.
