Okay, I love Vaio notebooks, but trying to downgrade to XP from Vista is not fun. Sony provides no support – so it takes some serious digging to find all the driver. Hopefully, I can save someone what I went through. I’ve zipped up all the XP drivers (except for the modem driver which I couldn’t find). Here ya go…

You have go go into the video settings and enable it. right click on your desktop and choose properties then go to settings and you should have the option there to enable it.Better yet get rid the Sony. those bastards won’t stand behind their warranty if they can figure a way out of it.
Ok , thx for answering that Mark Areola. I know this isnt my Site or anything, but i have come to love, just the fact i can come to a place where i have helped Countless People , a few whom have Posted replys, and Countless Others that refuse to post or even say Thx.
So heres my Thx to You.
I still dont understand why some people are asking for the drivers and/or saying they cant find them. The answer is typed above and i refuse to Re-Type it. If they are just too dayum lazy to read, then they can do without. If they cant read, thats a different story , but why are they on a Computer? Hmmmmmm
Anyways, i am still riding this Sony VGN-NR180E or so it says on the lower right-hand corner of the screen, however on the back of my Laptop PC, it says it is a PCG-7Z1L . Thanks for trying to Confuse the Hell outta me Sony. I thought that for sure the Main Sticker on the Bottom of the PC , would be Right and Correct , but thats where i was wrong. The only place on this Sony Laptop Anywhere, That has the Model Number on it, The Correct One Anyways, is on the Lower-Right-Front of the Upper Portion of the screen.
Just had to give Props for that one Sony. Hell , I rode the Short-Bus growing up, and you just nearly Tripped My Azz-Up , Something Awful. Ever lost your keys, and just couldnt sleep until you found them? Thats how i got to feeling, all-the-while knowing there was Drivers out there for my Laptop somewhere. But where. So when i determinded that i did have a VGN-NR180E and not a PCG-7Z1L , I was able to piece together enough to make it work. Thanks anyways though.

Yeah Sony was good about that two model numbers thing. What the heck they were thinking I’ll never know. I still run windows on one of the hard drives but hardly ever boot to it. The one that gets me is all the e-mails I get from one of these sites or maybe a couple with people asking me for help on their Vista problems. You would think they would see this was a page about people that hated it so much they got rid of it, but I still try to help.I do try some new stuff in Vista with VMWare but I really limit it because I only set aside 16 gigs for ultimate and Vista alone can take more than that.I do appreciate the thank you though.I sometimes feel that I’m hijacking this guys page lol.

I wish I would have Googled this site first before I spent time and money with Sony support and buying a USB wifi adapter to keep things going. After a month of tech support with Sony i randomly googled and found this site and found the wifi driver that I needed, THANK YOU SOOOO MUCH!!!!!!!
Would you believe that Sony had the NERVE to ask me why did I downgrade to XP from Vista???????????????????????
Hi! I’ve Sony Vaio VGN NR180E. It came with 200GB HD drive, all in single partition i.e; C Drive. Whenever i install new windows vista from the recovery disk it give me only one partition. I create 4 partitions but every time it converts it into one after recovering the windows vista.
Can anybody plz tell me how can i create multiple partitions? I don’t want to instal vista from any other disk except one with the recovery.
Me waitin for the solution, thnx!!!

Re: kaloy
It should be in the zipped files on top. Other than that there’s a couple of hotfixes from Microsoft that you’ll probably need. The one I believe is KB88111, the other one I can’t remember what the number was, but check 835221 maybe that was it.
good day to everyone. any one who has a good heart to send me or give me site where i can download recovery cd for VGN-NR120E, please please…thank you
Salute !
