Does Time Move Backwards?

It is possible – in theory – that time may not just move forwards but backwards, too. And if time ebbs and flows like the tides in the sea, it might just be possible to foretell major world events. We would, in effect, be ‘remembering’ things that had taken place in our future. “There’s plenty of evidence that time may run backwards,” says Prof Bierman at the University of Amsterdam.

“And if it’s possible for it to happen in physics, then it can happen in our minds, too.” In other words, Prof Bierman believes that we are all capable of looking into the future, if only we could tap into the hidden power of our minds. And there is a tantalising body of evidence to support this theory. Dr John Hartwell, working at the University of Utrecht in the Netherlands, was the first to uncover evidence that people could sense the future. In the mid-1970s he hooked people up to hospital scanning machines so that he could study their brainwave patterns.

  • is it possible to travel backwards through future time, to witness events that have not happened yet

Time does not move. As human beings, we and consciousness move through time. Reality is an eternal projection.

  • Not unless you are a tachyon or you can create a tachyonic field would you actually be able to move through time (okay, maybe just you can Clapper). However, if you are referring to “moving backwards” in time through just thought, I believe you are simply referring to precognition, you know much like the force (which you to might possess as well). I just like to refer to it all as hocus pocus. Or just keep hanging with Jessie and you’ll figure it out.

  • You have to read the article at The Global Consciousness Project. Until someone finds a way to test the existence of tachyons they are only sci-fi.

  • We only percieve time through consciousness. We need to measure the placement of past or present events to explain things cronologically. If it were true that time ebbed and flowed as the tide, we would be uninhibited in changing the course of world events over and over again. Time would be only a “glitch in the Matrix” so-to-speak. You could argue that every action having an equal and opposite reaction, time’s progression would also have a regression into the past. But in order for that to be true, time would have to be an energetic entity, either potential or kinetic. It is theorized that time exists simultaneously with space (space-time). So in this theory, time is a thing……capable of being manipulated. As space is curved by the presence of matter, so is time along with it. So in the theory, it must possess either potential or kinetic energy. How can you manipiulate something that has neither? Time travel or movement, for that matter, is not possible, even with all those equations with all the backwards E’s and triangles and stuff. 🙂

  • First off, I suspect we unconsciously (physically) perceive time as well, given biorhythms like heartbeat and sleep. I definitely like the idea of a regression corresponding to time’s progression. “When” this happens is anyone’s guess, but I’m hoping that when I die I’ll live my life backwards–(which will make sense to him, though probably not to us).
